Unique Projects.
Wittman Regional Airport, Appleton, WI
Project consist of construction of a new FAA Air Traffic Control Tower & Facilities constructed at an active airport. During the Experimental Aircraft Association held here yearly, it is the busiest ATCT in the world. NEI had to work very closely with the numerous trades and agencies involved for nearly all of our work. Agencies involved in the project were the FAA, WI Bureau of Aeronautics, The Experimental Aircraft Association, Winnebago County, Wittman Airport staff, and the Resident Engineer. Beside power wiring, NEI furnished and installed 2 miles of fiber optic communication cable along and under the active runways from the terminal building to the new ATCT, the structured cabling system, access control system, surveillance and intercom systems.
Oshkosh Lift, Oshkosh, WI
NEI installed the City of Oshkosh lift structures/bridge remote electrical controls. Project required updating controls to PLS's, installing VFD's to allow bridges to open automatically for boat traffic including pedestrian sensors and installation of CCTV for traffic surveillance and security.
Architectural Bridge Lighting, Green Bay, WI
NEI provide distinctive bridge lighting for the new Mason Street Bridge across the Fox River. One of the heaviest travelled roads in the City of Green Bay, the bridge is visible to homes and businesses on each bank of the river and NEI worked with the city to develop an innovative look for this landmark. More than 90% of the work was performed over open water.
Skipper Marine Quarterdeck Marina, Sturgeon Bay, WI
NEI is one of the few contractors in the region capable of installing electrical systems on a floating dock. NEI worked directly with the owner to provide Design/Build services in this unique project. We furnished and installed off-shore power , off-shore fuel dispensing, marina lighting, ornamental lighting, electrical substations and power distribution equipment.
