Wittman Regional Airport Traffic Control Tower

January 8, 2008

The new FAA Air Traffic Control Tower & Supporting Facilities was constructed at Wittman Regional Airport. During the Experimental Aircraft Association held here yearly, it is the busiest Air Traffic Control Tower in the world. Northern Electric, Inc. had to work very closely with the numerous trades and agencies involved for nearly all of our work. Agencies involved in the project were the Federal Aviation Administration, Wisconsin Bureau of Aeronautics, The Experimental Aircraft Association, Winnebago County, Wittman Airport staff, and the Resident Engineer. Besides power wiring, Northern Electric, Inc. furnished and installed the structured cabling system, access control system, surveillance systems, intercom systems and over 2 miles of fiber optic communication cable along and under the active runways from the terminal building to the new Air Traffic Control Tower.
